Tailor Your System

No Matter the Type of System or Project Challenges, We Have the Right Solution. Our treatment systems are fully customizable, with expert support at every stage.

UV Disinfection

This water treatment process uses ultraviolet light to deactivate pathogenic microorganisms. The treatment is carried out with specially designed UV lamps to optimize contact between the rays and pathogens, ensuring rapid and effective disinfection.

A wide range of UV reactors is available on the market. We handle the selection of the solution best suited to your needs.

Phosphorus Removal

BIONEST’s phosphorus treatment process is a physico-chemical method aimed at removing dissolved phosphorus from wastewater. Alum (aluminum sulfate) reacts with phosphorus to form an insoluble precipitate, which is then removed by sedimentation.

This treatment is required under certain regulatory or environmental conditions.

High-Strength Wastewater

Our systems are designed to treat domestic wastewater. Want to connect a restaurant, kitchen, or cafeteria? We have the solution. We offer simple and effective pretreatment options to ensure optimal system performance, from influent to effluent.

Alkalinity Adjustment

Certain biochemical reactions, particularly those related to phosphorus treatment, consume alkalinity. The alkalinity in water helps stabilize pH, a critical parameter for proper treatment. It is therefore essential to ensure that alkalinity does not drop below a minimum level, determined according to the characteristics of each project.

Alkalinity adjustment is achieved with a soda bicarbonate dosing system, which can be manual or automated.

Technical Building

Electromechanical equipment necessary for system operation must be protected from the elements. For large-scale projects, a dedicated technical space is often essential. We offer a prefabricated, turnkey solution, fully designed and assembled in our Shawinigan facility. Our custom technical buildings are delivered to the site ready to be connected to plumbing and the local electrical network.

Want to simplify project coordination? We have the solution.

Instrumentation and Control

Our systems are custom-designed based on client needs, with simplicity and robustness as key principles. This does not preclude the integration of tools to facilitate diagnostics, automate operations, and reduce human intervention.

We have developed a wide range of solutions for data logging, automation, control, and communication.

Treatment of odours

A system designed according to best practices and operated as specified generates no odours. This equipment is intended for our most demanding clients, particularly when the system is installed near areas of human activity. Comprising blowers and a bed of wood chips, our odour treatment system discreetly captures and releases air from the tanks, out of sight.

Aeration

Our technologies provide biological treatment based on the action of autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria naturally present in wastewater. To degrade pollutants, these bacteria require oxygen, which is supplied through a high-performance aeration system developed by BIONEST.

This aeration system comes in multiple models, which our experts size according to the specific requirements of your project.

Tanks

Our solutions are compatible with a wide variety of tanks: precast concrete, fiberglass, or cast-in-place concrete. Each option has its advantages and constraints, making each project unique and highly customized.

FAQ

Our AZIMUTH technology allows treated water to be discharged into a watercourse, lake, or ditch, making it one of the most compact solutions on the market.

Our AZIMUTH technology is supported by a technical data sheet validated by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Change Action, Wildlife and Parks (MELCCFP)

The treatment performance of our technology is as follows:

Parameter
Value
BOD5C < 15 mg/L
TSS < 15 mg/L
Fecal coliforms < 50 000 CFU/100 mL
Ptot < 1.0 mg/L

Fecal Coliforms: With the addition of a UV disinfection system, performance will be < 200 CFU/100 mL after reactivation.

Phosphorus: < 1 mg/L if a phosphorus treatment system is added to the treatment train.

Thanks to these treatment performances, we are able to offer direct surface discharge of treated water!

The AZIMUTH treatment train has a lifespan of over 30 years. Our equipment is installed in extremely durable concrete or fiberglass tanks, and although some electromechanical components may need replacement as part of regular maintenance, the treatment train will last as long as the tanks.

Note: A polishing field typically has a lifespan of around 25 years.

Our treatment systems can be installed in all types of tanks: precast concrete, fiberglass, or cast-in-place concrete.
