Innovation Research and Development Technician

- Full-time | Permanent position

As a member of the Innovation, Research and Development (IRD) team, the technician takes part in the manufacturing and proper operation of pilot platforms. They also ensure the monitoring of field installations. Enjoying outdoor work, they appreciate hands-on tasks and teamwork. Resourceful and detail-oriented, they can adapt to unexpected situations while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Your Future Role

  • Plan and carry out the assembly of various projects in collaboration with project managers;
  • Install measuring instruments (flow meters and probes), perform calibration, and document quality control checks;
  • Operate and maintain pilot systems;
  • Make adjustments and repairs when required;
  • Take part in performance monitoring of tests;
  • Contribute to product development and improvement;
  • Participate in team meetings on project progress;
  • Provide internal micro-trainings as needed (assembly, safety, instrumentation).

Skills

  • Experience in applied research and development (asset);
  • General knowledge of plumbing, basic electricity (12/24/120 V, wiring), and working with metal, wood, and plastics;
  • Strong aptitude for manual work;
  • Relevant vocational or college-level training, or certification in wastewater treatment, electromechanics, instrumentation, or process technology;
  • Ability to read P&ID diagrams, familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD), and basic knowledge of PLC/HMI systems (asset);
  • Comfortable working with wastewater, using appropriate safety equipment;
  • Valid driver’s license required;
  • Work mode: on-site.
