Wastewater Treatment Intern – Innovation, Research and Development (R&D)

Bionest is a Quebec-based company fully dedicated to the development of wastewater treatment solutions. The company holds numerous patents worldwide. Certified ÉcoresponsableMC by the Sustainable Industries Council, Bionest is committed to protecting the environment and ensuring the long-term preservation of water resources across the globe.

Bionest is looking to welcome a university intern to join its Innovation, Research and Development (R&D) team. This internship offers the opportunity to be actively involved in the development of new domestic wastewater treatment technologies by contributing to ongoing projects and completing an individual internship project. The intern will work within a young, dynamic, curious, and committed team, where ideas are shared, experimentation is encouraged, and each team member actively contributes to the advancement of the department’s projects.

Your Future Role

  • Conduct scientific and technical literature reviews

  • Develop experimental plans (methodology, equipment, analyses)

  • Participate in sampling, setup, and operation of pilot systems

  • Compile, analyze, and interpret results

  • Write and present progress reports

  • Participate in team meetings and meetings with research partners

  • Contribute to the development and configuration of new technologies

Skills

  • You are pursuing a university degree in water engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, or a related field

  • You are curious and enjoy understanding how things work

  • You want to complement your academic training with hands-on, practical experience

  • You want to contribute to projects with a tangible environmental impact

  • You are looking for a stimulating, people-focused, and collaborative work environment

  • You are autonomous, organized, resourceful, and demonstrate creativity in proposing solutions

  • You are comfortable with teamwork and communication

  • Excellent command of spoken and written French

  • Functional English for reading or occasional exchanges with partners

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (an asset)

  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment regulations (an asset)

  • Ability to read technical drawings (an asset)
