The contract includes two inspections per year. In addition to the checks performed for an advanced secondary system, maintenance includes inspection of the BIO-UV unit, cleaning of the sleeve and UV lamp, and their replacement during the annual inspection. A water sample is collected and analyzed, and a report is prepared. The report is sent via the client portal.

What You Should Know About Septic System Maintenance

Q-2, r. 22 is the Quebec regulation governing the discharge and treatment of wastewater from isolated residences. It is based on the Environment Quality Act and is administered by the Ministry of Environment, Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks (MELCCFP) ([resource link]). This regulation sets the standards for the design, installation, maintenance, and compliance of wastewater treatment systems for homes not connected to a municipal sewer network.

Quebec regulations require that the system owner maintain an active contract at all times with the system manufacturer, their representative, or a qualified third party to ensure proper and compliant monitoring of the wastewater treatment system. The Bionest contract is automatically renewed each year and invoiced only after maintenance work has been completed on-site.

The total maintenance cost may vary depending on the type of system, necessary repairs, or if your residence is located in a remote area. Our services, across all technologies, start at $146.75.
